Silver revived

Had another go at reviving some of the Silver rings I have found recently. My technique is not perfect yet but thankfully getting better.

Here is the "before" on the larger ring.

All good fun.

Welcome trough

Had not been out for a hunt for 15 days so I was quite keen to get to the beach yesterday and very pleased to see a long trough cut in the sand when I arrived. Over the next 3 hours I concentrated on the trough and found two 925 rings and two silver NZ threepence's dated 1934 and 1943 plus $6.60 in cash so I was quite happy with that result. Roll on Summer.

Welcome Plat.

Finds from a recent beach hunt.
I think my first Pt900 plus 18ct Gold, a tiny .925 ring top and a large silver ring.
All round a great hunt with my CTX.

HH to all.

New beach rewards.

This week I have twice hunted a beach on the North Shore that I have not visited before. It would seem that not many others have either as the targets were quite plentiful.  The first visit gave up a nice little 925 ring with teardrop stone and the second visit a 9ct wedding ring. So with the jewelry, the scrap Lead and about $10 cash it was a great result.

Thanks for looking.

9ct signet

Shot down to the beach tonight for a quick hour hunt before dark. Had some good luck again recovering $2.90 plus a 9ct signet ring and yet another junker ring. 😊

Triple returns of the day

Got a call about a ring find on Kohi beach this morning. Arrived there about 10.30 and found I would actually be looking for 3 gold rings, one with diamonds. No pressure. So I gridded hard following the tide down and the dry sand alternately. Found them all near the bottom of the slope but spread out. Happy lady. Happy me.

Very nice to receive $50 + a bottle of wine.

Infinity 925

Had a pleasant evening hunt on a city beach last night. Heaps of bottle tops to deal with but still managed $11.20 and a small 925 ring to feed the habit.

Evening beach hunt

Had an evening beach hunt with my son on Waitangi day. The first hunt in the dark for some time and I had forgotten how enjoyable it can be. Despite the beach being very crowded earlier in the day the really good finds did not appear however We did have some success and here are my finds.

The elephant head pendant is silver as is the 1936 NZ threepence.

Family beach hunt

Got a text from my son on Wednesday.
"Do you wanna go detecting after work"
Reply "Yep"
So we were on the sand at Mission Bay at 6.45. People everywhere. Fraser using my old E Trac and me with the 3030. Tide incoming. We did ok. Fraser won the cash count with $10.00 + some junk jewelry. I only managed a measly $5.00.  :-) Here are my finds for the evening. The chain is silver. The ring is junk.

Good times.

First 2017 Gold

My family recently returned from a short stay on Waiheke Island where I managed to get several beach hunts in including one with Brett where we both had success with our CTX 3030's.

Total cash for the holiday was $18.50 and 3 items of Gold so I was happy as with that result.

14kt - 9kt - 9kt

Eversharp Square Leads box possibly 1930's

All finds.

First 2017 hunt

New years day hunt on the beach at 7am where I found 5 other hunters already swinging earnestly. Not to be deterred by this I set about  searching 5 - 10m each side of the high tide line and this is what I found.

Unfortunately all that glitters is not gold. Here is the rest including $13.20 and a silver chain n pendant.

Thanks for looking.
Happy New Year to all.
