Yesterday I spent a couple of hours back at the same beach as my last post where I dug the 3 ring bullets. The tide was low which gave me a huge area to hunt and will mean a few more visits will need to follow. This time I was very pleased to dig an English 1908 Shilling and my first Australian Florin 1917, both coins silver. As the pic shows I also retrieved a square locket which I have not yet opened and for some reason I am a little dubious as to what it's contents might be. It is unmarked but tests silver with acid. The disc at the top of the pic is lead and I am not sure what it is unless perhaps an old bottle screw cap seal. Please comment if you know.
Oh and of course more lead. 2.8kg's this time and there is still a lot there.
Thanks for looking

Found a new to me beach to hunt today. I will go back on a better tide as the 1916 English 3p and the 3 Ring lead bullets suggest there may be more to find of a good age. Maybe even some gold. :-) Total scrap for the day was another 1.2kg of lead.
The bracelet charm is not silver.
Thanks for looking.

Pandora Circle of Family Silver and 14k gold charm (online at NZ$89.00). I managed to find a beach with some sand movement today. I hunted all around for the rest of the bracelet but no luck. Perhaps next time. Also got $12.00 plus two junk rings and a Greenstone pendant. The Gold is small but it still counts I reckon. Good fun in the sun.
