New vocation

Yesterday I braved the elements and went to the beach in the gale force winds hoping for sand movement. Sure enough the high tide had scoured about a foot off the top of the beach so a jewelry find was highly anticipated but sadly was not to be. After a while the wind and drivnig rain became too much and  I had to depart with just 90c, a junker chain and a badge for a less dangerous hobby.

Thanks for looking.

New sand success.

Today I traveled East to a beach I had not hunted before but knew that it has been thrashed by many detectorists in the past. When the tide went out it revealed heaps of scoop holes on the mud flats so I did not expect to get many tickets. However as you can see below I was lucky enough to get get some jewelry and coin while enjoying the Winter sun. One ring is .925 and the other appears to have gold edges so happy with that and the small pendant is also silver.

Stainless saved the day

Well it was tough going on the beach this morning. Too much deep sand about made targets scarce but thankfully not extinct. The ring is magnetic so I assume a cheap grade of stainless steel.
