Nothing much

Knowing that the weather was going to turn bad on Sunday, my detecting this weekend became more "got to go do it now" for me as opposed to making a  plan to find some good stuff.  Well on Friday evening I went to Nixon park and got virtually zilch, so after 45mins I moved to the Springs as darkness fell and fortunately found a few dollars to take away.

Got out again late Saturday morning and hit a couple of parks near the city, which was a bit cheeky as they have probably been hit by  another E Tracker who lives nearby and so I was not too expectant on finds but more just curious for new ground. Here is a pic of the first park.

This was a really nice spot to hunt and it produced a few coins and a small decorated panel from among the trash. If you want to practice hunting in trash this is a good park to do it in. The next park was just a small corner site with very few targets.

So I look forward to the next gold ring or silver ring or florin or half crown or something worthwhile when I will happily do it all again next weekend. :-)
HH all.

Pssst - Wanna see my buckles

The pic below shows the various buckles I have found so far.
All on the top row are I believe from horse tack including the two round pieces. The other two rows were possibly used for clothing belts and general leather strapping in Auckland during the late 1800's and early 1900's. The snake S may be one half of a military belt buckle from WW1.  Unfortunately none of these items are brass.

If you recognize any of them please comment.
