Smokin gun

Well I only got one hunt this week but one is better than none for sure.
Spent about 2 hours back at the new spot I am trying and dug 3 more silver coins
and an 1889 penny. This was encouraging, as I am trying out a new discrim. pattern on my ET.
As for the other bits n bobs the cap gun was a bit unexpected and the cigarette holder made a great sound.
I am told the small grill thingee is part of a clasp for a hair bun but I cant place the shiny dome.

I decided not to show you all the tear tabs, bits of lead and brass etc. as no doubt you all know what they look like. :-)

Silver Dogs

This weekend I decided to have a go at a couple of long-shot beaches and also check out some new ground as my finds lately have not been that crash hot.
The beaches turned out to be just that, long-shots, as the finds were only a few dollars, a toe ring , a Euro Coin token and a big whatzit that when smashed held what seems to be the remains of a Castle gear. No matter as the antics of the many, many dogs being exercised on this beach are always so entertaining. Sure makes up for the lack of targets.

I did check out a new park and adjacent area that is a little out of my usual territory. There I picked up a couple of silvers , my first smashed lead bullet, a couple of pennies and a 375g piece of lead that has been shaped for some unknown purpose. This site looks quite promising and will be a definite starter for next Summer when the ground dries out.
Here is the pic:

Silver and wheels

Slipped away from work 30minutes early tonight and headed for the beach.
On arriving I found there were two shallow and parallel  trough type cuts in the sand that looked reasonably fresh so I spent time hunting them. Might have to go back as it took me a while to work out the best area to focus on before darkness fell.

Sparkler wires took up quite a bit of time too but I also found $2.30, new wheels and a small .925 Silver and (possibly) Jade pendant in the 90 minutes that flew past so quickly.

Great fun

Gold number 3

This weekend I hunted in two parks and on two beaches.
Individually the finds were a bit sparse but I am happy with the collective result because I did find another gold ring and then this afternoon I hit on a patch of goldies to nicely finish the weekend.
The ring is a small 9ct and will fill another slot in my new ring display box. Just need another 20 or so rings to fill it up. Maybe next weekend .....!

The big earing is a junker of course and the tiny Dice charm took a bit of finding at about 15cm deep.
$37.00 in spendable and one lead sinker for the scrap bin.
